Mining

Mining is the only way how the materials are imported to world economy. Mining is technically combination of three activities.

Extraction

Borehole created via mining rig can extract regolith and ice form asteroid surface and lift it to the asteroid orbit.

Collection and Transport

Materials need to be collected from orbit and transported to the refinery for refining.

Refinning

Refining is performed at the space station facilities. There are plenty of refining facilities and each has different possibilities of extracting different materials. It is effective to combine different types of refinement to obtain scarcer materials.

Getting Started

To start Mining for resources, you must purchase a Mining Rig and put it in your ship cargo(it will be visibly tethered to your ship - also your ship can have only limited amount of rigs tehered at the same ime).

Start Mining

To start the mining process you must fly to a asteroid, after that get close enough to the asteroid until you have the option to Borehole. Select this option and this will then bring up a menu that will let you know the required time needed, the amount and types of resources you will get.

Mined resources

Borehole site can extract regolith and ice depending on asteroid type and temperature. Temperature depends on distance from Star.

Gaining Your Resources

After the mining process has finished, click on the borehole site and select liftoff. This will cause the yields to be sent to orbit, there it can be collected.

Protecting Your Yield

As with any PVP game, your yields can be stolen by other players. With this is best to cooperate with a alliance member to make sure you gain rightful ownership of you hard earned goods. To achieve this its best to have alliance member guard the borehole. The resources at the borehole can then be launched to orbit remotely to which your alliance member can loot the goods.
